Autumn UprisingOctober 1618, 1998at Eliot Hall Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts |
|
The second annual Autumn Uprising festival, three days of
(mostly) Boston-area improvised music. The festival roars back with 17(!)
different ensembles. This year features many of Bostons younger musicians as
well as established performers who have been on the scene for quite a while.
The inclusion of Sabir Mateen and Jack Wright, saxophonists from out of town,
should not only provide great music, but will also contextualize Bostons
post-Ayler scene as one of depth and power, not just some place other than New
York City. For more details, go here! |
